Multi-child Strollers are built for transporting twins, triplets (two or three children of similar ages) and even quadruplets and quintuplets. These strollers are available in standard stroller, umbrella stroller and jogging stroller types.

For those active moms and dads out there, there are athletic double stroller options for those who like to get in a brisk walk or active jog with their twins or similarly-aged kids. This article will explore a few of the jogging stroller options.

If you come across a thorn and poof, there goes the air out of your double stroller front tire, that could make for a long walk back home. A good quality bike shop will be able to fill your stroller’s air tires with some goop or thick liquid that seals any punctures and will keep that air tire right on rolling. We looked at many jogging strollers, even we don’t jog, but the jogging strollers all have seats too reclined. This one isn’t perfectly verticle but is good enough. We don’t carry a diaper bag anymore because the side pockets are good enough to put a few diapers and wipes (and keys, cereal bars). Before we bought it, we were worried that the ipod function may bring too many wires or attachment (we don’t want to play music). But it’s all built in inside a small box and doesn’t bother us at all.

I ordered the Jeep Stroller for my grandson. He is one year old and loves it. It was a little hard to put together – but as my husband says nothing we have bought for him has come assembled!
The outlet for the MP3 player is neat. He loves the horn and engine sounds. I would recommend this stroller to anyone looking a not your standard stroller.

Reebok Jogging Stroller

Reebok Joging Stroller has a rear suspension system that provides a comfortable ride for your child while being easy to push over a variety of terrains. The 16″ wheels are suitable for grass, sand, and gravel as well as paved surfaces. If you are serious about your jogging you should insist on a stroller with at least 16″ wheels, 12″ is only good for smooth surfaces.

It should be remembered, though, that babies under the age of 6 months should not be taken jogging, they don’t have the muscle control to properly support their heads and the back and forth movement when running could be harmful.

The Reebok jogging stroller, however, could be used as a regular stroller for the first 6 months after your baby is born and then when she is ready you can start taking her with you on your jogs.

This jogger has a fleece-lined boot that keeps your child warm and protected from cold drafts. Other handy features are the cell phone pocket, the adjustable canopy, and the one-hand folding mechanism.

When fully folded the Reebok jogging stroller takes up remarkably little space. The wheels are attached with a quick-release mechanism so taking the stroller completely down is a snap.

The Reebok stroller has been designed so that your child sits well back from the front wheel. This is safer than allowing the feet to come near the front wheel and distributes the weight more evenly for more stability.

We are quite impressed with this stroller. Care has to be taken when assembling that the front wheel is properly aligned otherwise it may pull to one side, but otherwise this is a good choice in a moderate priced jogging stroller.

The double stroller is a miraculous invention for the multiple child household. It is easy to maneuver through malls, streets and parks. It is fairly lightweight and can be pushed very easily by even the tiniest of grandmothers. There are numerous accessories that can be purchased to keep the children safe from the elements as well as increase storage capacity. These few tips will make the double stroller even more efficient.

Weight Distribution

If you have children of different weights sitting beside each other than place the heavier items you bring with you behind the lighter weight child. This will distribute the weight more evenly and allow for easier maneuverability.

Heavy Terrain

If you plan on using your double stroller on dirt paths or grassy fields look for a brand with a heavy-duty wheel. If you did not purchase this type of double stroller than remove as much weight from the stroller as possible to make it easier to push.

Thirsty and Hungry Children

If you find yourself stopping every few minutes to give your child a drink or something to eat consider purchasing a few different accessories. There is a strap that will clip onto a baby bottle and then onto the stroller thereby preventing a child from flinging it out of the stroller. There is also a cup holder that can attach to the stroller beside the child’s seat and hold a sippy cup. Along with the cup holder you can purchase a small bag that will also attach to the stroller next to the child that can hold snack items.

Thirsty and Hungry Mommy and Daddy

There are cup holders available for adults too. Some are insulated to keep drinks hot or cold. Be very careful where you use the drink holder for a hot drink, as you do not want it to spill on your child. There are also organizers that can attach to the top of the stroller for parents to put their own snacks in.

Traveling with your Double Stroller

If you are flying with your stroller you can protect it from getting banged up by purchasing a carrying case. Usually you will need to fold up the double stroller and remove the wheels for packing. But this extra effort will save on wear and tear of the stroller.

Climate Control

Always be prepared for the elements. There are many coverings you can purchase that will protect your children from rain, wind, strong sunlight and even mosquitoes. Many of these coverings will fold up into small pouches for easy storage in your double stroller.

Keeping Calm

A bored child is usually a cranky child. There are now many toys on the market that can attach directly to your double stroller and keep you children occupied for many hours. Look for toys with bright colors and multiple functions so they will keep the child’s attention.

These are just a few tips to keep mom, dad and babies all happy and content on outings with their double stroller. Remember to try and plan ahead for all events and circumstances and you will find the pushing is much easier!! Happy strolling!!

Double strollers come in a myriad of shapes, sizes, sturdiness, and price ranges. They have different levels of comfort, steerability and storability. Double strollers come in 2 basic types: side-by-side and tandem. In tandem the children sit in a row with one in front and one in back. A side-by-side double stroller has the children sitting next to each other.

Side by Side Double Stroller

The side by side double stroller has many advantages over the tandem stroller.

Safety

The side by side double stroller has its center of gravity spread out more than the tandem stroller. Thus it is less likely to tip over in an accident and therefore, less like to cause harm to your children.

You can see both children easily in the side by side double stroller. In the tandem, the child in back tends to block the child in the front seat. With this type of seating it is much easier to see if either child is in need to attention.

Happier Children

With a side by side double stroller there is no kicking of the child in the front seat by the child in the back seat as there is in a tandem stroller.

Even if the children are not twins, a side by side double stroller gives them the opportunity to interact with each other. This prevents boredom and cranky children.

All Terrain Steering

Due to the wider wheel base of the side by side stroller they tend to do better in outdoor settings. Therefore if you plan on using your stroller in the park, or at the soccer field the side by side is able to withstand the uneven terrain with less chance of tipping over.

Legroom

As your children grow the legroom in the back seat of the tandem stroller might be insufficient and not enough room for little legs to stretch out. This leads to an uncomfortable and fussy child. The side by side double stroller has ample legroom for any stage of growth. Either child can stretch their legs as desired.

Nap Time

Oftentimes the children will nap in the stroller. With a tandem stroller the front seat might not recline sufficiently. In addition if the child in the front wishes to nap but the child in the back seat is still awake the back seat child can easily distract the reclined child due to proximity. With the side by side stroller, both seats recline completely and one sleeping child is not easily accessible to the awake and alert child in the seat next door.

The side-by side stroller is perhaps the safest and most comfortable of the 2 different styles of double strollers. It is less likely to tip over and provides for easy interaction between the 2 children.
