The CPSC reports that Maclaren USA is recalling all of their single and double umbrella strollers sold from 1999 through November 2009 – about one million strollers, in all. The models affected are Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.

Reports that the hinge mechanism in the back of the stroller can cut (or cut off) children’s fingertips has prompted the recall. You must heard about the 6 month old baby who miraculously survived being hit by a train after his stroller rolled off the platform in Melbourne, Australia on October 15, 2009.

The baby’s mother was temporarily distracted by an oncoming train as she waited on an elevated train platform. Her baby son’s stroller rolled off the platform and onto the tracks just as the train ran over it. This video shows the mother desperately reaching for her baby and nearly being hit by the train herself. She then screams hysterically as onlookers walk away in shock.

The New Taga

Is it a bicycle? Or is it a baby stroller? Or is it an expensive death trap for your toddler?

The Dutch sure do love their bicycles, so its really not surprising a designer from the Netherlands has come up with hybrid bicycle-baby-stroller. Its not the first of its kind… but its one of the more stylish. (Technically its a tricycle-baby-stroller, but whatever.)

“If you come to a situation where you don’t want to cycle or you’re not allowed to cycle, at the subway or in a supermarket, in less than 20 seconds you can convert it into a stroller,” says Jeroen de Schaaf, Taga’s European manager. The company is hoping to launch the Taga in North America this summer.

By M. Rappard, I own a Sport Phil and Ted’s stroller and wasn’t very pleased with their cup holder option. I saw Bob’s and decided to give it a try. I am happy to say that it has worked great. Phil and Ted’s stroller has several handle angle options and although at some angles it is difficult to maneuver a water bottle in and out, overall it works wonderfully. Also, because Bob’s cup holder is Velcro, you can adjust the straps to make the cup holder level no matter what angle you have the handlebar at.

For those active moms and dads out there, there are athletic double stroller options for those who like to get in a brisk walk or active jog with their twins or similarly-aged kids. This article will explore a few of the jogging stroller options.

We looked at many jogging strollers, even we don’t jog, but the jogging strollers all have seats too reclined. This one isn’t perfectly verticle but is good enough. We don’t carry a diaper bag anymore because the side pockets are good enough to put a few diapers and wipes (and keys, cereal bars). Before we bought it, we were worried that the ipod function may bring too many wires or attachment (we don’t want to play music). But it’s all built in inside a small box and doesn’t bother us at all.

I ordered the Jeep Stroller for my grandson. He is one year old and loves it. It was a little hard to put together – but as my husband says nothing we have bought for him has come assembled!
The outlet for the MP3 player is neat. He loves the horn and engine sounds. I would recommend this stroller to anyone looking a not your standard stroller.
